I was going to write a blog about Prop 8 and how I feel that we need to make marriage obsolete. Civil unions for all because they don't have the same inherent symbolic sexism as marriage, and that it could be the beginning of a re-imagining of relationships for everybody, and start a revolution of sorts, but I'd probably just piss off 1/2 of you and I'm feeling nice today so . . .
So there is talk of doing a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot.
Now to many people this seems like crazy talk, but to a whole generation this would be new and fresh. I'll be curious to see what they do. I've softened on my remake hate because in the last few years I have seen a number of remakes that have cast new light on old characters, and put a different spin on old tales. Seriously Rob Zombies Halloween had a level of compassion and sadness rarely brought to horror. The re-make of Sleuth took the homoerotic tension to a whole other level. Last House on the Left, yeah that's some middle-class rage that we never saw in the original. So are there elements in the Buffy-verse that can be opened up in new ways now, absolutely. I'll hold off on condemnation until there is an actual film. That said they better remember to keep Buffy's "keen sense of fashion."
Ladies who are busty, here is a shop for you pretty bras in size D and up only. Jenette Bras
School censors 6th grade girl's report on Harvey Milk. Student's Harvey Milk Report Censored By School I have no words for how ridiculous this is. The child did the assignment and basically now she is being singled out because Milk was gay. I feel bad for this child being treated so unfairly.
This all goes back to the notion that there is nothing more to homosexuals (or bisexuals) than the sex they have. You know what, somebody in this equation is obsessed with sex, and it's not the gays. *throws up hands* I'm just done. *goes to workout her annoyance*
Obama's potential Surpreme Court nominee http://ping.fm/bwglz I don't know anything about her but I'm certainly going to research.
Let me begin this post by saying I've had lime, cherry, and strawberry/mango margaritas. So coherence may be somewhat less than normal. Today was my friend Antoinette's birthday so we went to see Terminator. I know some people haven't liked it the gritty, Blade Runneresque filming style that was used for most of the film and i heartily approve of this vision of masculinity, where you can be kind, caring, decent, and still beat some ass. Also Anto Yelchin is indeed hot. I thought he was cute as Checkov, but in Terminator I would certainly bend him over my desk and do him. After the movie we went to Copabanana, home of the best maragritas ever! No lie. Our awesome and adorable waiter can trace his family tree all the wayback to the American revolution, yes I get this deep with my waiters, He was very excited his gf is back after 3 weeks in Boston, he left her food and beer. He has to work late. Ok family guy is on. bye.
An extra $100 bucks landed in my account today that I wasn't expecting. How sweet is that. I'd forgotten all about that. I have to go to the post office and workout. *boo* Antoinette's bday is this weekend so movies and margaritas will be abundant. She wants to see Terminator so let's see what McG is going to throw down. Oh and I will have to manage to squeeze some actual work in too.
Interesting thoughts on why sometimes you may have to defend things you don't like.
Why we have to stand up for things we don't like
